Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at  onskinlife@gmail.com  if you cannot find an answer to your question.

OnSkin is not a “one-size-fits-all” facial spa. We specialize in individualized, results-driven, skin-health-focused treatments that combine advanced skin science with holistic skin physiology.

Rather than chasing trends or quick fixes, we focus on long term skin health.

  • Barrier repair and regeneration
  • Inflammation control
  • Skin function and resilience
  • Science based skin rejuvenation

Every treatment is customized. Every product is chosen intentionally. Every plan is built around your skin’s biology, not marketing trends.

No skin is the same, which is why every ingredient I use is selected specifically for your needs, not a one-size-fits-all protocol. Each product I choose is free of unnecessary irritants, and many are formulated with cleaner ingredient standards, such as being free from added parabens, artificial fragrances, sensitizers, and harsh sulfates.

I focus on active, evidence-based ingredients, including:

• Vitamin A (Retinoids) for cellular renewal and aging support
• Peptides for firmness and skin repair
• Vitamin C + antioxidants for brightening and protection
• Hyaluronic acid + ceramides for hydration and barrier repair
• Gentle AHA/BHA exfoliants for pore clarity and texture improvement
• Niacinamide for calming, strengthening, and evening tone
• Mineral-only sun protection

Our products are suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. We have a wide range of products that cater to different skin concerns.

Products are cruelty-free and include many vegan-friendly formulations. While not every product in the line is vegan (some include natural dairy-derived ingredients).  Each brand clearly notes which items are free of animal-derived components so you can choose products that align with your ethical preferences.

Yes, all products are cruelty-free.

At OnSkin, aging skin is approached as a regenerative and restorative process, not something to “fight,” but something to support intelligently.

We begin by identifying why your skin is aging the way it is - whether it’s collagen breakdown, dehydration, inflammation, sun damage, barrier dysfunction, muscle laxity, or a combination of factors. From there, we create a personalized treatment and home-care strategy designed to:

  • Stimulate collagen and elastin production
  • Improve skin firmness, tone, and elasticity
  • Strengthen the skin barrier and improve hydration
  • Reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and texture irregularities
  • Improve circulation, cellular energy, and skin vitality

Your treatments may include advanced modalities such as microcurrent (non-surgical facelift), microneedling, LED therapy, chemical resurfacing, regenerative facial treatments, and advanced corrective protocol.  Specifically selected for your skin’s biology, sensitivity level, and long-term goals.

We also focus deeply on skin longevity: supporting your skin’s ability to function, repair, and regenerate over time, not just creating temporary surface results. The goal is not to change how you look—but to help your skin become healthier, stronger, and more resilient, so you look refreshed, lifted, and naturally radiant at every stage of life.

Absolutely,  this is one of our specialties. We work extensively with Hale & Hush, Environ, and barrier-repair protocols to rebuild tolerance, calm inflammation, and restore skin function before pursuing corrective treatments.

Sensitive skin requires:

  • A strong barrier-first approach
  • Nervous-system aware treatments
  • Inflammation control
  • Careful product selection
  • Progressive, gentle correction

Collagen can be helpful, but it’s not a magic shortcut. Collagen is a structural protein that gives skin its firmness, elasticity, and strength. As we age, collagen production naturally declines due to aging, sun exposure, inflammation, stress, and hormonal changes.

When you consume collagen (powders, drinks, supplements), your body does not send it directly to your skin as collagen. It first breaks it down into amino acids and peptides, which your body can then use wherever it decides they are needed most which may include skin, but also joints, muscles, bones, and connective tissue.

That said, high-quality collagen peptides can support the body’s building blocks for skin repair and regeneration, especially when combined with adequate protein intake,Vitamin C, zinc, and copper (needed for collagen synthesis), good gut health and nutrient absorption and a low-inflammatory lifestyle.

The most effective way to improve skin firmness and structure is to stimulate your own collagen production through professional treatments and correct skincare, while supporting your body nutritionally.

They do two completely different things, and they work best together, not as substitutes.

Collagen supplements provide raw materials (amino acids and peptides) that your body may use for tissue repair and maintenance. They support overall health, including skin, joints, bones, and connective tissue but they do not directly tell your skin to make new collagen.

Microneedling, on the other hand, actively stimulates your skin to produce new collagen and elastin by triggering the skin’s natural repair and regeneration process. This is what creates visible improvements in firmness and elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles, texture and pore appearance, scars and skin density, and overall skin quality.

If the goal is visible skin rejuvenation and structural improvement, microneedling (and other collagen-stimulating treatments) is far more effective. The best results come from stimulating collagen in the skin while also supporting the body nutritionally.

Collagen production begins to decline as early as your mid-to-late 20s and continues to decrease by about 1% per year, accelerating with sun exposure, stress, inflammation, and hormonal changes.

That doesn’t mean you need aggressive treatments in your 20s. It means this is the ideal time to begin preventative, low-inflammatory collagen-supporting strategies, such as professional skin treatments that stimulate cellular activity, Vitamin A and barrier-supportive skincare, sun protection and inflammation control, occasional collagen-stimulating treatments as needed

In your 30s, 40s, and beyond, collagen stimulation becomes more corrective and restorative, helping to preserve skin firmness and thickness, slow visible aging, improve texture and laxity, and maintain skin resilience and structural integrity

The best approach is not age-based, it’s skin-based. The right time to start is when your skin shows signs of slowing repair, thinning, or losing firmness and that timing is different for everyone.

Type I collagen is the primary structural collagen in the skin.

It provides strength, firmness, and support, helping skin maintain a smooth, lifted appearance. As Type I collagen declines, signs of aging such as fine lines, laxity, and thinning skin become more visible.

Type III collagen supports skin repair, elasticity, and regeneration.

Often called “youthful collagen,” it plays a key role in wound healing and tissue renewal, contributing to skin that looks plump, flexible, and resilient.

How they work together:

Type III collagen is produced first during skin repair, laying a flexible framework. Type I collagen then strengthens and matures this framework, creating healthy, resilient skin. With age, Type III collagen declines first, followed by Type I—leading to slower healing and visible skin aging.

Our treatments are designed to work in harmony with the skin’s natural biology, supporting both Type I and Type III collagen.

We begin by creating a healthy skin environment—strengthening the barrier, reducing inflammation, and optimizing cellular function. This allows the skin to respond more effectively to advanced treatments.

Professional treatments such as customized facials, corrective exfoliation, microneedling, peels and collagen-stimulating technologies encourage the production of Type III collagen first, which supports repair and regeneration. Over time, this process transitions into increased Type I collagen, improving firmness, structure, and long-term skin resilience.

Keeping in line with holistic practice, you must also focus on internal health factors. Nutrition, inflammation, and lifestyle will influence the quality of collagen in addition to topical care alone.

The result is not just temporary improvement, but stronger, healthier skin that ages more gracefully.

Microneedling is one of the most powerful regenerative treatments for improving skin quality, structure, and resilience by activating your skin’s own natural repair system.  As we age, the skin’s ability to repair itself slows down. Collagen, elastin, and cellular turnover decrease, leading to thinning skin, fine lines, laxity, enlarged pores, and loss of firmness.

Microneedling works by creating controlled micro-stimulations in the skin that signal your body to:

  • Produce new collagen and elastin
  •  Strengthen the skin’s structure and density
  •  Improve firmness and elasticity
  •  Refine texture, pores, and fine lines
  •  Improve scars, crepey skin, and uneven skin quality
  •  Enhance skin regeneration and resilience

Rather than masking aging, microneedling teaches your skin to behave like younger skin again by reactivating its repair and renewal mechanisms.

As part of a strategic, skin-health focused, regenerative protocol, microneedling is optimized by combining with LED therapy, barrier repair, and advanced skin nutrition.
